They have arrived!
Orders have shipped or are ready to be collected from Strangeworld. You should have received an email regarding this. Strangeworld Records trading days and opening hours can be found on their website, Facebook, Google etc.
NOTE: this is not a Homeless release!
Newly-minted STRANGEWORLD RECORDS is utilising the functionality of the Homeless website – shipping for U.S or EURO orders is only AUD $11 for one LP (ships from New York and Paris respectively) or AUD $12-13 for multiple records. Add other limited Homeless releases such as the Carpenter / Goblin-inspired sounds of THE NIGHT TERRORS and save on shipping.
Ordering issues? These are covered in the Homeless FAQ.
“Visitors to Strangeworld in Fitzroy, Melbourne often comment they’ve heard on the ‘vine that we’re THE place to hit in Melbourne when looking for Gizz rarities or colour variants. With over 20 years vinyl-pressing and label experience (including 28 releases for Homeless the past 5 & 1/2 years) we thought it would be cool to present an Australian pressing of KING GIZZARD’s revolutionary idea of allowing fans and labels to create their own edition of ‘Polygondwanaland’. Strangeworld plans to give back to the King Gizzard guys (see below) whilst also presenting a high-quality, European-pressed edition to Australian fans and cheap shipping for collector or completist types located outside Australia, via our fulfilment partners based in Paris and New York.” – Richie @ Strangeworld
The two pressings offered here – in an edition of 500 copies each, pressed in the Czech Republic for guaranteed quality – represent the Strangeworld logo variations we currently utilise.
An example of a past variant we created, as modelled by Miles Brown (you should check out his freakish talent) of The Night Terrors (two superb releases available here):
Mock ups of the colour variants have been provided, the test pressing (Czech Republic) is the best we’ve heard in 20 years of pressing records and our fulfilment (i.e. shipping) partners in New York and Paris are prepared for a February packing onslaught.
In return, Strangeworld Records – the store – will provide the King Gizzard lads with the following:
– $1500 gift voucher (or separate Gift Vouchers for each member, totalling $1500) to spend in Strangeworld
– Band member copies of each variant
Free PICKUP available from Strangeworld Records, 11 John Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia.
